Greg Scibelli is the sports editor for Turley Publications since the beginning of 2018. He has had an extensive freelance career working for Turley throughout the entire region as both a sports and news reporter, as well as a photographer.
Beginning right out of college in 2004, Scibelli started out as a freelancer covering Southwick and Suffield in both news and sports. Over the years, he had stints working in other areas before settling in as the main sports reporter in Agawam, Holyoke, and South Hadley, doing other projects along with the way. In 2014, he had a temporary stint as the editor of the Southwick News and the Chicopee Register as well as other copy editing jobs for the next couple of years. In 2016 he was named Associate Sports Editor until most recently being named Editor of the Sports sections.
Upon taking the associate sports editor role, he took on the task of editing the Chicopee, Wilbraham, Agawam, Holyoke, and South Hadley sports pages.Scibelli holds a Bachelor’s Degree in both English and Journalism and as 12 years of experience throughout the journalism field. He is a huge baseball and football and also enjoys watching soccer, hockey, and wrestling. He plays baseball during the summer and enjoys spending his time with his two nieces, who have accompanied him on assignments since they were very young.
