Nate has been with the Chicopee Register since its inception in 1998. He has been covering Chicopee Comprehensive on a regular basis since that time and added Chicopee High five years later. His writings have also been seen in various papers in the Turley network. He got into writing while covering his children’s YMCA swim team in the 1980s. Nate got his BA from the University of Massachusetts in 1972 and an MEd from Westfield State four years later. He owns an executive search firm and has had a couple of stints as a teacher. He also works as a swim official at local high school meets and has been writing the general swimming articles for all of the papers.
Nate lives in Westfield with his wife, Carol. They have two grown children, Erica and Andy. His greatest sport moment was watching the Red Sox win in 2004 and then going to Boston to join in the celebration when they returned home. He also wrote a piece on the memorial to Ted Williams, looking back upon his experiences with the great Red Sox hitter.
